Carl Malmsten (1888–1972) was a pioneering Swedish furniture designer, architect, and educator renowned for his devotion to traditional Swedish craftsmanship and his influential role in shaping 20th-century Scandinavian interior design. Malmsten’s career took off after he won both first and second prize in the 1916 competition to design furniture for Stockholm City Hall, a breakthrough that led to prestigious commissions for public and royal interiors, including Ulriksdal Palace and the Stockholm Concert Hall.

Renowned furniture designer who helped furnish the Swedish Pavilion in Paris. Malmsten’s work is celebrated for its craftsmanship and timeless elegance, reflecting the core values of the Swedish Grace movement.
